How To Reach Me - Snail Mail

And boy oh boy does Guinea give a new meaning to snail mail....some folks need to know how to get a hold of me so here it is:

Rasa Vella
Corps de la Paix
B.P. 1927
Conakry, Guinea
West Africa

All is still going well no real news from site mainly b/c I'm not doing a whole lot now just talking with people and since my vocabulary is so limited I have the same 2 conversations 10 times a day!!!!!

The really fun thing is explaining American idiomatic expressions to my French teacher...well explain it in French of course...such topics as:

Greek Mythology
Hell's Angels
A "dive"
A nark
shooting the bull

now I can't remember all of them but you get the drift! UPDATE with an new pic soon!

Hugs,
Rasa

Hi there Rasa!

It's been too long and I finally remembered the address for your blog page. Of course I remember saying how easy it would be to remember. I was almost going to call your mom for your address. I'm going to test out sending some snail mail, so we'll see how that goes!

I'm glad to hear that things are going so well and I can't tell you how PROUD I am of you! I am taking a break at work right now...which is a whole other story. More days than not, I feel I have to find a new job. So much of me doesn't want to give up on the job even though my boss makes it SUPER difficult sometimes.

I have started volunteering myself. I will be a child mentor to a girl between the ages of 5 and 14, who is a daughter of a parent or two in prison. I am still going through the training though. I probably won't be assigned a mentee until the end of May or June. I'm super excited about the volunteering and I am actually hoping that I can become a bigger role in the program eventually, and I'm hoping sooner rather than later. It's so hard not to admire the core volunteers of the program who help do it all!

I am still dating PC. We have their ups and downs, but overall things are really good. I am living with him, which I think I told you, but I'm not too sure. I continued looking for places when I was crashing with him, but hadn't had much luck. I was looking both for places by myself and with other roommates. That process sucked actually. I saw some pretty sketchy places. While I was doing that, things were going well so I decided to stay. That's about it on that front.

I'm going home for Maria's graduation/mother's day/my grandma's birthday. I'm very much looking forward to that! I need to see my mom and hang out with maria. I sure do miss her! I will tell her you said I when I see her. She's doing really well though. She is finishing up her student teaching and hopefully she'll find a good placement.

I look forward to hearing more of your adventures.

Love you and miss you tons!

Biersack
